Wire EDM is an excellent way to cut tungsten carbide machine parts to exact sizes. However, you need special circuitry to EDM carbide without damaging the material. Our Sodick wire EDM machine has this circuitry and can hold tolerances to ±.0001" while not damaging the material. This is an important factor in maximizing tool life.
