In many applications, a hardened tool steel is the best material for the job. For many forming operations, D2 tool steel is the material of choice, providing good wear resistance along with a degree of toughness.
A step up from D2 tool steel is DC-53, a powder metal material that provides the increased wear resistance and stability of traditional powder metal material without the powder metal material price. Many of our customers are having great success after switching to this material.
